Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. CVNE, also known as Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España, is a family winery founded by two brothers near the Haro train station in 1879. Thanks to its strategic location, especially for the movement and therefore the marketing of wines, the company has grown a lot over the years. Today CVNE owns approximately 545 hectares of vineyards in La Rioja and is managed by the fifth generation of the family. The grapes for the production of Monopole Clasico Blanco (Viura and other indigenous vines) come from the approximately 15-year-old vineyard located in Villalba de Rioja at an altitude of over 600 meters and planted on calcareous soils. The harvest is manual and the fermentation takes place in steel tanks. The finished wine then rests on the fine lees in large barrels for approximately 8 months. Monopole Clasico Blanco is a wine that reveals a beautiful pale gold color. Its aromatic profile is fresh and broad with notes of white flowers, peach, ripe citrus, almonds, and a light salty hint. On the palate, it is rich and smooth, concentrated, and with a sharp acidity. It has a surprising minerality and a long and persistent finish. It is a versatile wine and pairs well with both fish and white meat.
