Drink it now, or cellar for up to 5 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. The Bogle Winery is located on the Sacramento River, about half an hour from Sacramento, in an idyllic but almost deserted area of California. The estate dates back to the 19th century and the first vineyards were planted in 1968. Today the company is still a family business, where all members are actively involved in the everyday operations, which is why their entire wine range has an extremely high level of quality. The Bogle winery grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Merlot, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Pinot Noir, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc. The Bogle Merlot is a perfect example of full-bodied California Merlot, aged for 12 months in American oak barrels. In the glass, the color is a bright cherry red. On the nose, it develops delicious aromas of cherry, black plum, blackcurrants, and smoked meat with an exotic touch and a hint of black pepper. The wine is lively and rich, with firm but velvety tannins and hints of pipe tobacco and spiced oak that give weight to the finish. A delicious wine that is the perfect partner to a barbecue, a grilled steak, a plate of pasta with meat sauce, or grilled chicken with oriental spices.
