Cellar for up to 15 years. Decant up to an hour before serving. Sin Azufre begins with an elevated, aromatic nose of rose petals, raspberry, red cherry and minerals. It is a product of Argentina, harvested from 60-year-old vines in Rio Negro Valley, Patagonia. As the name suggests, this 100% Pinot Noir wine is completely free of sulphur, thanks to the impeccable quality of the grapes and the winery’s careful, biodynamic approach. Bodega Chacra is located on the southern tip of Argentina, nestled between two raging rivers. The Lima and the Neuquén play a large role in making Rio Negro such a fantastic grape-growing region. The winery was founded in 2004, by Piero Incisa della Rocchetta - he was intrigued by the location’s high altitude, old, ungrafted vines and unbeatable scenery. Today, he is producing some of the finest Pinot Noir in Argentina. The palate is a delicate, complex experience. Layers of red fruits intertwine with a rich minerality, umami flavours and hints of dried herbs. There is a pulsating acidity and subtle, integrated tannins that form a textural backbone. Before release, Sin Azufre was aged for 11 months in oak barrels. It is a lively, beautifully balanced wine, perfect for pairing with cheesy risotto, tender meats, or a mature block of cheese.
