Bjørnefjorden Gjestetun was originally the Hauge farm, dating from 1655. Bjørnefjorden Gjestetun farm used to be part of Lysekloster monastery 1146 by the Lysefjord. The Cistercian monks of the monastery had a great deal of say in what was grown on the farm. Among other things they introduced fruit-growing as an industry along the fjord. After the Reformation, the Hauge farm was eventually able to buy its freedom - and at the time it paid as much for the salmon rights in the Os river and the sea as it paid for the land. This is an indication of the importance of fishing as a source of income to the farms in those days. Bjornefjorden Gjestetun Hotel is positioned 1 km from the lovely beach and is approximately 28 km away from the city of Bergen. Bjornefjorden Gjestetun Hotel is located amidst greenery and offers a peaceful ambience. Numerous sightseeing places and entertainment venues are located close to the Bjornefjorden Gjestetun Hotel.
