The Achaval Ferrer winery was founded in 1998 in the Lujan de Cuyo region in Mendoza by six friends who are passionate about wine. The technical direction is in the hands of Italian winemaker Roberto Cipresso, who is a specialist in small productions and high-quality wines, and has led the company to brilliantly interpret the terroir of its vineyards. In fact, despite being very young, Achaval Ferrer is already considered one of the best wineries in the world. Like any other Achaval Ferrer wine, this Cabernet Sauvignon is representative of the precise company philosophy based, in the vineyard, on high sustainability, and in the cellar on minimal intervention, without filtrations, corrections or additions of yeasts. The wine is produced in limited quantities, with grapes from two vineyards: one quite old, planted in 1928 in the Medrano region, and the other in the Alto Agrelo region, with plants just over 15 years old. The wine ages for ten months in new French oak barriques. The wine is young, lively and intense with seductive perfumes of ripe black fruits, minerals, spicy spices, and subtle hints of oak. In the mouth, it has medium density and velvety tannins, with a juicy final persistence of spices and black fruit. Delicious with roast lamb, barbecue and red meat dishes in general.
