The artichoke, Cynara scolymus, is a large-thistle-like perennial plant native to Africa, with large green leaves and numerous purple flowers. It is in these leaves that the unique active ingredient, cynarin, is contained. This Healthspan extract also contains flavonoids (including luteolin) which are antioxidants. Antioxidants are compounds which help to neutralise free radicals. Antioxidants work best in combination which is why our experts recommend that anyone taking Artichoke Extract should also consider another premium antioxidant. Each Healthspan Artichoke tablet provides 360mg artichoke extract which is equivalent to 9,000mg of fresh leaves and is standardised to provide a guaranteed amount of 7.2mg of the key active ingredient cynarin.
